DETERIMINING THE RELAVANCE OF GALL BLADDER WALL PATTERNS AND VOLUME BY ULTRASONOGRAPHY V/S CLINICAL SEVERITY DENGUE SCORE IN DENGUE PATIENTS

Introduction: Dengue syndrome is a self limiting disease caused be dengue virus, belongs to flaviviridae family ,arboviruses group transmitted by vector aedes aegypti, contributing to the global burden of disease 390 million infections per year with 70% actual burden in asia .
Objectives :To study the various presentation of the gall bladder wall thickness patterns at the time of presentation.
Materials and Methods: This Hospital-based prospective study comprised of a total of 20 patients referred to the department of Radio-diagnosis al ameen medical college bijapur for abdominal ultrasonographic evaluation were included in this study.
Results: The present study consisted of 20 patients who were proven ns 1 positive at the time of admission. The patterns of gall bladder wall thickness is as followed: striated pattern (7/20,35%), tramtracking , honeycombing each (3/ 20,15%), asymmetrical (2/20 ,10%),echogenic layer (1/20,5% ) and 4 (20%) normal studies Conclusions: in every case of the dengue thickness of the gall bladder wall appears to be the prominent finding and typically striated/onion peel pattern predominates among the different patterns, hence ultrasonography can be a useful tool to assess the severity of dengue and for early prediction of the etiology in the suspected , false negative cases / in epidemics.
